On a Teacup Afternoon
To all those wretched women
Who've lost themselves in their bubble brains
Do keep away
For all I ask is one teacup afternoon
Who could have seen more tenacity
Than I
Who have witnessed
Carrots
Who know nothing
But to throw themselves at you
Like puffy little arrows
That break into
The creases of your armored heart
And set sails to that pager of yours
That goes beep-beep
To my every twitch
If I could make your eyes fixate
On the yellow window of my face
All the bagels and berries
Would chew on their skin
To keep themselves busy
Because we have kept them waiting
On the round edge of the plate
Unfold the smallest of hands
And I will call out to those infinite eyes
Who seem to have seen
Humanity in its most vulnerable state
Your heart rows the poetry of oceans
Indeed, you wander
Through the dark rooms of my mind
As a matter of fact
There are no words for this
No box could ever contain
Your mysterious simplicity
All I ask is one teacup afternoon
Just you and me
