check out the bamboo scaffolding evident everywhere we went. this was in kowloon's tsim sha tsui.

this is a closeup of the scaffolding [so you know im not lying] on the building above mcdonald's and watson's near the harbor city 700 mall.

the famous bank of china tower designed by i.m. pei. some chinese actually consider it poor design because the diamonds are four sides [bad luck] and the antannaes make it look like a cricket.

the more impressive hsbc building which is really transformerish looking and can actually transform to conform new specs. very cool. the sunscoop affect alone makes it a marvel

the hk convention center which is actually where this year's w3c conference took place earlier this month.

the only statue in staue park in hong kong's central district is this one honoring the dead.

i liked the tile detail on this fountain at the statue square in central.

i think this is a government building near statue square.

misc building i saw on either connaught road or queens road central on the walk back from sheung wan.

another misc building. funny story -- they were shooting pics of this <i presume> italian restaurant with these people inside dressed up as the pope and other religious officiants. when we walked by, the actors saw me looking in and waved. the "pope" waved!

i can't decide if i like the mirrored facades or not. but i sure like taking the pics, don't i? i like the reflection on the side.

one more -- i think there might have been more, but i didn't want to overkill.

this is actually one of the fancy buildings in either shenzhen or guangzhou, they also liked the mirrored buildings.

the inside of the exchange square, i liked the detail of the atrium sculpture.

the interior of the festival walk mall in kowloon tong. we visited festival walk after visiting wong tai sin. more on that later.

the interior of the international financial centre and mall. the hong kong airport express terminal is located on ground level. this was the meeting place for some of our outings with an ex pat the first few times. while waiting z and i would check out the shops and buy candy. the best aji ichiban was located there.

this was another interesting building that we saw on the way to stanley - it's near repulse bay. there are a lot of high rises, but this one was interesting cause there was a hole in one of the buildings and the rest of it was pretty colorful.

hong kong reveres its stars and i thought this display of various singers was pretty fab. the funny story associated with this pic is that i took it from one of those pedestrian walkway/overpasses and every weekend [it seems] there are students selling stickers [called flags] to earn money. they don't sell candy, they sell stickers. cool, but every weekend?! i was attacked while taking this pic.
