1.What is your name and where are you from?

Hiya, My name is Ginette aka StyraFoam. I'm from $ingapore, and I'm right in the middle of the rat race.

2. What do you do for a living and how do you

feel about it?
I'm a web consultant/ web designer by day and a couch potato by night. I feel that I should be earning more money, I know everyone says that, BUT I DESERVE TO GET PAID MORE!

3. If you could live and work (study) somewhere else, where would that be? Why?

It would be New York. I love the city (nice place to take black and white snaps - very romantic), so vibrant, great museums, and Parsons Skool of Design is there, so is my beloved brother.

4. What is your Philosophy in life?

"I only live once, so argghh screw it, I'm going to do it."

5. What are you really passionate about?

Feminism, cats, art, my web site (witness shameless plugging), music.

6. Where do you derive your inspiration? And why?

From books I read, movies I watch, beautiful scenery, friends I talk to, my partner… Generally life itself. Because I think life holds many exciting adventures.

7. How do you picture yourself right now?

I would picture myself in a bondage getup and lots of makeup…

Har har. No, really, I see myself in a phase of rediscovering my life and my identity as a single feminist girl living wif her parents (very Asian, sad but true… u know you save a lot of rent money).

8. How do you see yourself 10 years into the future?

I see myself in New York with my partner lying down on a patch of grass in Central Park reading a book, while my cat lies right next to me.

9. How do you define success?

To me, success is when a person forgets all sadness in her life, when she stops wanting more and is finally content, and smiles becoz she is surrounded by all her loved ones.

10. What is it like living in Singapore?

Very comfortable, so comfortable that most of us had stopped questioning the government. But it's picking up again… :D

11. What is your average day like?

Lots of food and a lot of pointing and laffing at other ppl. I'm mean that way. :D

12. What does having an Asian heritage mean to you?

Chinese/Asian culture/heritage means that I do and perceive some things differently from people from other races and that's usually interesting. I may not have come from China, but I'm definitely proud of my ancestors and how Ancient China was such a great and intelligent kingdom. The Yellow Emperor never ceases to amaze me.

However, $ingapore is a predominantly asian country, so being asian just means that I'm one of the rest of them.

13. What is your perspective of Asia, Asians and the Asian culture?

I think it's sad Asia is at loggerheads with itself. It has the potential to be such a wonderful place, like it was in history. I also think it's the Asian ego that has brought Asia to such a state.

14. Your final words for this interview.

…must…eat… g
